When Sharon & Judson McCollum stepped off the plane in 1974, a wonderful feeling came over them immediately. “It’s hard to describe, but it just felt right in every way,” Sharon says. Whether it was the stunning Sandia Mountains providing a picturesque backdrop to the city, the everpresent sunshine and perfect climate or the friendly people about town, they quickly fell in love with Albuquerque. “I can still remember Sharon saying ‘You absolutely must take this job,’” Judson says.

A Twist of Fate

At the time, Judson was interviewing for a position with Levi Strauss. He was actually born in New Mexico and raised in Texas, so he had some familiarity with the area. Sharon, however, was born and raised in Canada (which is also where the two of them met). But they were both drawn in to the Albuquerque lifestyle on this visit, and thankfully, Judson got the job. He worked there for 12 years as a Personnel Director at several different plants throughout the Southwest.

Sharon also settled in professionally, starting her real estate career in 1979 and establishing her reputation as one of the area’s premier listing experts. Together, they have enjoyed every moment shared with friends and family throughout the Albuquerque community, but they also enjoy the quiet moments at home. Judson is an avid gardener, while Sharon enjoys cooking gourmet meals and reading as many books as she can.

Better Together

When Judson retired from his corporate career with Levi Strauss in 1986, he realized he just wasn’t the “retirement” type. He decided to join Sharon in the real estate business and together they’ve made quite a professional team. Their philosophy is built on doing what’s right for their clients—providing the information, guidance and support they need to make sound investment decisions.
